En Gedi - Worship Gatherings

"En Gedi" is an oasis - Christ is the Oasis in our lives and we are here to be an oasis for the hurting, hungry and thirsty on Washington Island

Weekly Gatherings are held every Saturday night from 6-7pm at:

Bethel
1821 Main Rd.
Washington Island, WI 54246

We meet in an informal setting and dig into the great depth that is God's relationship to the humanity He loves. Phil and Ben share in the teaching responsibilities. All age groups are welcome and all people are accepted as valued people. This is where the Body, broken and beautiful, meets. Come with your questions and doubts. We hope to see you at one of our gatherings sometime in the near future. P.S. No perfect people allowed.

Drive-By-Prayer

"Drive-By-Prayer" is a way for the teens to connect with the community in the most powerful of ways. People who have prayer requests are prayed for in a creative way by both the Senior High and Junior High youth groups. The prayer requesters won't know when we're coming as the activity is done in complete secrecy. The organizing of this event will be done in secret as well via handouts given out at least a week before the event. Please allows us to pray for you as you pray for us and leave us your prayer requests with as much detail as you wish to include and your name (if you choose) and address. The youth will creatively and secretly let you know that you've been prayed for.

Stephanie Baumann

Stephanie is the wife and ministry partner of Ben Baumann. She has a servant's heart and an awesome passion for holding up and encouraging teen girls. Stephanie has experience with youth from infant to teen as she not only has raised two beautiful children with her husband, but has also partnered with Ben in youth ministry. She was also Kidzone Co-coordinator of the couple's Church where they served in La Crosse, WI for many years. She looks forward with excitement for what God can and will do through their lives here on Washington Island.

Ben Baumann is the Director Youth Ministries for Bethel Evangelical Free Church (Or just, Bethel) on Washington Island, WI. He, along with his wife, Stephanie began this adventure on January 2, 2009. It would, though, be unfair to say that that is where this all truly began. Truth is, God had been planting seeds and watering them through the people Ben met and others he's been close to in the years leading up to now. Thanks to God and those people Ben feels like he has roots. A year ago, Ben wasn't sure he could have done this job, but now stands strong and excited to see what God will do on Washington Island. Ben's strengths lie in creativity and faith. He believes that creativity is worship at it's most simple, pure form. Ben comes to the Island knowing his calling, to love God with everything he's got and to love others to his furthest extent. He will strive to do that in his life as he interact with the youth that will no doubt teach him just as much as he hopes to teach them. Ben is a husband and father of two; proof of God's love and evidence of His blessings. Ben looks forward to not only touching the lives of the youth he will encounter, but also the community he is now, once again, a part of.
